This option causes [[page server]] or [[RPC|service process]] go to daemon mode.

This option causes [[page server]] or [[RPC|service process]] to run in background, i.e. as a daemon.

Option is extremely used with [[CLI/opt/--pidfile|the one]] generating a pid file.

One might also find {{Opt|--pidfile}} useful together with <code>--daemon</code>.
